Dee Dee is a character from Dexter's Laboratory.
Background
First to appear in the ballet themed opening credits of Dexter's Laboratory, it is seen from her perspective. She was initially the star of the show. Genndy Tartakovsky said that he created Dee Dee first. Not long after, he decided to create a character that is the exact opposite of her, so that is how Dee Dee and Dexter became siblings.
Biography
She is a student who is talented in Performing Arts. Dee Dee has two friends Lee Lee and Mee Mee who practice together. She is pursued by Mandark, and occasionally competes in Ballet with Lalavava. Dee Dee loves her younger brother Dexter, and their Mother and Father. As with most of her family, they do not speak in a French accent nor an Irish accent, as Dexter and Magic Uncle Fergle O'Reilly speak with. Dee Dee and Dexter do not share a bedroom. Her room is filled with Fanciful Unicorns and other ballet materials that Dexter is afraid of. However, she loves to enter his Laboratory and Computer and can do so better than he can. She is also better at role play games such as when she impressed Dexter's friends in episode D & DD. Despite Dexter demanding Dee Dee to leave his laboratory, they work together to keep it secret from their parents. In Dexter's Laboratory: Ego Trip, it is revealed that Dee Dee can utilize technology safely if she chooses to.
Personality
Dee Dee is free spirited, as said in Dexter And Computress Get Mandark!. She loves to dance and sing. She has common sense and told Dexter about his problems in episode DiM, and also plugs the sign in to turn it on from the opening credits. She has love for Dexter and protects him and his secret laboratory. She also has intelligence, and a desire to complete her science project independently. Dee Dee and Dexter take turns in interfering in each other's lives. Despite having her own bedroom, she is able to gain access to all of Dexter's possessions. Typically she destroys something with physical force or by pressing the wrong button. When she presses the right button, she ends up being heroic which makes Dexter just as upset. Dexter also interferes in her life by helping her with her science project. His interference resulted in the school being launched into space.
Production
Allison Moore and Kathryn Cressida share the voice acting job of Dee Dee. Allison Moore voiced her in Seasons 1 and 3. Kathryn Cressida voiced her in Seasons 1 and 4.
Appearances
Dee Dee has blonde hair and blue eyes, she wears a pink shirt and dress, and she wears pink shoes, her pantyhose can be seen and it is white. She has a large head and also has long arms and very long legs. Dee Dee also has a very small torso and has almost no neck.
